Our Mission
The mission of the Ken Pribil Jr. Foundation is to commemorate the life of Ken Pribil Jr., a young man who died at age 19 from angiosarcoma cancer, by raising awareness for sarcoma cancer through community engagement, providing cancer research grants, and awarding annual college scholarships to graduating high school students who demonstrate the ambition and life values Ken Jr. held.

Taking Action
Whether it be the Recreation Center, Newcomer's Club, or St. Patricks Parade, the Ken Pribil Jr. Foundation strives to remain grounded in the communities in which we live.
As Ken Jr. was a long-time employee at the Rockville Centre Recreation Center, we've donated an outdoor bench and shrubbery in his memory, which are situated at the actual spot he once worked. In addition to managing the tennis & basketball courts, Ken Jr. was a summer camp and events leader. At Camp Marist, in New Hampshire, we've donated a kayak in Ken Jr.'s memory as this was his favorite summer getaway growing up. We also enjoy participating in Camp Adventure outings, a camp in Shelter Island for children affected by cancer and their siblings. |
Giving Back
Since Kenny's passing at the tender age of 19 due to angiosarcoma cancer in 2006, we have given multiple sarcoma cancer research grants to support ongoing studies, including multiple at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY, and at the Children's Hospital at Montefiore (CHaM) in the Bronx, NY. Kenny was an avid reader and accomplished student, and had many unique talents when it came to games, music, and sports. To uphold his legacy of learning, we have given multiple annual scholarships to one or more graduating high school students since 2006. Learn more about our scholarships. |
